The Principal
Dinyar (Dan) J Marfatia JP
Dan Marfatia, founder, principal and managing director of Marf & Associates, has worked in accounting taxation and financial management for more than a quarter of a century. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Auditing, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Corporate Management, Chartered Corporate Secretaries & Administrator and a Masters Degree of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Cranbourne University in the UK.
Dan is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Fellow of Institute Professional National Accountants and a Certified Public Accountant. As a Justice of the Peace, Dan presides in the Magistrates Court, hearing such matters as traffic offences and ex-parte restraining order applications.
Dan represents the NIA Institute at the Australian Taxation Office on the WA Regional Tax Practitioners Working Group. He is the chairman of the Membership Committee for JHI Asia Pacific region and his main task is to locate and identify prospective accounting and tax firms where JHI has no representation.
Drawing on his extensive auditing, resources, management and process engineering experience, Dan brings a range of skills and specialist knowledge to bear on every project. In his spare time, he provides consultation and aid to a variety of charities and non-profit organisations. You can also find him on the squash courts, sailing or time trialling his power boat ‘No Formalities’ on the Swan.
